The Vipp 15 pedal bin is a 14 liter / 4 gallon trash can. The Vipp pedal bin is made with a layer of stainless steel and equipped with a damper mechanism for smooth closing of the lid as well as a rubber ring that guarantees air-tight closure. The body is manufactured in powder-coated steel and hides the removable, galvanised steel inner bin. A rubber ring at the base ensures that sensitive surfaces are safeguarded.

A 10-year warranty applies to bins purchased after 2008 and a two-year warranty to bins purchased before 2008. Please see the ‘Care’ tab for further details.

The story of Vipp began in a Danish provincial town in 1939, when Holger Nielsen's wife, Marie, asked him a question. “Holger”, said Marie. “I need a waste bin for my salon. Can you make me one?”. These words mark the beginning of Vipp.

Marie had opened up a hairdressing salon. As a metal smith, Holger knew what makes a quality tool. So he made Marie a bin that worked and that very few people will ever wear out. He named it Vipp.

“Good design never goes out of fashion”, Holger used to say. Time has proven him right; the Vipp bin has only been marginally improved since it saw the light of day back in 1939.

Keep powder coated surfaces clean and dry. Use a lint-free cleaning cloth or a soft brush with warm water and a mild detergent. This applies to both smooth and rough surfaces.

For a more thorough cleaning remove rubber parts. Dry thoroughly before applying rubber parts again.

Tips for stains
Grease stains
- Use alcohol or glass cleaner to remove grease stains. Then follow the guide for maintenance above.

Lime stains on the black (rough) surface
- Use mild descaler suitable for painted surfaces. Use a lint-free cleaning cloth. Rinse with clean water and finally dry the bin.

Keep stainless steel clean and dry. Stainless steel may be permanently stained if water / fat / cleaning products are not removed relatively quickly.

We recommend the use of a care product for stainless steel, to make the surface water and dirt repellent. This makes the daily cleaning with a damp lint-free cleaning cloth a lot easier.

If the above instructions are followed, the stainless steel surface remains beautiful for many years. Remember not to use chlorine / abrasive cleaners as this may damage the surface.

Tips for stains
Grease stains
- Use alcohol or glass cleaner to remove grease stains. Then follow the guide for regular maintenance above.

Lime stains and discoloration
- Lime stains on stainless steel can be removed with warm soapy water, a soft sponge and a lot of elbow grease. It is important only to use a soft sponge, or else you may damage the brushed structure of the steel surface.

Stubborn stains and rust
Stubborn stains and rust may be removed by careful cleaning with a light-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel. Cleaning must follow the structure of the polished surface. Please note that this process can change the original polishing of the surface.

10-year warranty. The extended warranty for bins applies to products purchased in 2008 or later. The warranty assumes that the product has been properly used (see ‘Care'), with reservations for normal wear and tear. A 2-year warranty applies to bins purchased before 2008.
